If you’re a hip-hop head, you’d remember that we lost G.U.R.U. — born Keith Edward Elam — 11 years ago from myeloma. Today would have been his 60th birthday. If you were a child of the 80s and 90s as I was, G.U.R.U. was one of your favorite emcees — or one of your favorite emcees’ favorite emcees. So happy birthday to you, brother, wherever you are.
