MC Hammer celebrates his 63rd birthday, today.

Besides being a consummate showman, the Oakland-based emcee was one of the most commercially successful artists of his day. You couldn’t have been alive in 1990 without hearing “U Can’t Touch This” and that was followed by a handful of smash hits throughout the early 90s. And let’s not forget the cartoon Hammerman.
