The Isley Brothers‘ Marvin Isley was born 72 years ago today. Marvin Isley was an instrumental part of the band’s psych rock, rock and funk-tinged take on soul during the 70s. It shouldn’t surprise you that my favorite Isley Brothers songs are from that period. But most importantly, The Isley Brothers’ influence on contemporary music has been towering with their work being sampled over 800 times over the years.
Happy birthday, Marvin! Happy birthday, wherever you are!
