Yesterday was the 93rd anniversary of Bo Diddley‘s birth. Born Ellas Otha Bates, the singer/songwriter, guitarist and producer may be best known for playing a major role in the development and solidification of rock ‘n’ roll. And as a result, he was an influence on a lengthy list of beloved artists including Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, George Thorogood and The Clash among others.
So without Bo Diddley some of the music you know and love wouldn’t be possible. Happy belated birthday, Bo! Happy birthday wherever you are!
