Zohra Atash and Joshua Strawn were once the creative force behind the multi-member chamber music ensemble Religious to Damn. Atash and Strawn had felt with multiple members the writing process slowed the creative, recording and live performance processes. Also along with their original influence of chamber music, the duo had wanted to incorporate their additional influences of electronica and hip hop.  And as a duo, Azar Swan’s sound is decidedly electro pop/electronica. “Dance Before The War” is the duo’s third and latest single, and it’s a big, club-banging track that sounds as though it should owe 80s and 90s freestyle and house music a great debt with subtle elements of industrial music.

If you’re in the NYC, you can catch the duo of Azar Swan at 285 Kent on November 14th.
