As a high schooler, one of my favorite records was Faith No More‘s King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime. And one of my favorite songs off that album, apart from the jazzy “Evidence” was the balls to the wall, power chord heavy and thundering “Digging the Grave."

So when I saw that the Radkey Brothers covered one of my favorite songs of my teenaged years, i was immediately intrigued. Radkey’s cover is somewhat straightforward, although it does manage to have more of a snarling edge. Man, this cover brought back memories of headbanging on the Q88 bus back and forth from school and home.

You can catch the band during their two NYC area dates – and both at two of my favorite venues: tomorrow at Death by Audio and Thursday at the Mercury Lounge
