French electronica artist, Simon Delacroix writes, records and performs under the moniker of the Toxic Avenger. After the release of his debut effort, ANGST, Delacroix released the follow up “Romance and Cigarettes” single package as a teaser for the full-length album of the same name, which will see an October 4th release.

The track itself is a buzzing, slickly produced bit of infectious pop with an incredibly catchy hook sung by in a breathy sort of falsetto by French pop artist Jose Reis Fontao. It’s kind of romantic while having a summery, dance club kind of feel.

I’ve watched the official video for the track on a couple of occasions and it’s helluva lot of fun. The premise is pretty easy to understand – a bunch of folks roughhousing and fooling around in an empty department store (which is something i’ve always wanted to do).
