If you’ve been frequenting JOVM over the past few months, you’d know the first five months of the year have been particular big for women pop artists – as artists like Phoebe Ryan, Chelsea Lankes and Nashville’s CAPPA have received regional, national and international attention across the blogosphere. “Killin’ It,” CAPPA’s latest single is slow-burning track consisting of skittering synths, swirling electronics, and CAPPA’S seductively cooed vocals. And much like her previous singles, “Killin’ It,” is a slickly produced, radio-friendly song that’s actually quite club-friendly.

Recently, the Washington, DC-based producer, remixer and DJ Eau Claire set about remixing “KIllin’ It,” and Eau Claire’s remix retains the original vocal while turning the song into a glistening, and propulsive and breezy summer mix based around layers of slowly cascading synths and skittering percussion – while retaining the coquettishly seductive spirit of the original.
