Rising French electronic producer Pierre Charmot, best known as Moonbird emerged into the scene back in 2021 and he quickly established his sound, which sees him pairing hard-hitting techno beats with ethereal vocals. That same year, Charmot played his first live shows, opening for Emika, French 79 and a list of others. Building upon a growing profile. the rising French electronic producer won the electronic music contest, BPM.
Charmot will be releasing an EP through Egoist Records this year. But in the meantime, his latest single “Silence” is built around a woozily lush production that features twinkling keys, glistening synth arpeggios, skittering beats paired with the French artist’s yearning, ethereal delivery. Sonically, the song seems to evoke waves crashing upon the shore.
“‘Silence’ is about the growing need of quiet in our lives and depicts restless waves of sound crashing mercilessly against our doors,” Charmot explains. “The song and the video both draw inspiration from the dreamlike imagery of the ocean to set up a mood that is mysterious and contemplative.”
