New York-based saxophonist Max Wild started a new electronic-based project, which has him performing and recording under the moniker of MOA – and much like GRiZ and a few others, Wild’s latest project represents a recently developing trend among some electronic artists as they attempt to add nuance to their sound and live shows with live, analog instrumentation. In fact Wild’s project mixes slick electronic production, complete with buzzing, industrial synths, room shaking drums, with a cool sax solo as you’ll hear on “My Name is MOA,” the EP title track off Wild’s debut EP, My Name is MOA. The track manages to be large enough to rock a gigantic club, yet have the sort of vibe that’s perfect for just hanging out at a little lounge somewhere over a drink.
