Last month, La Noce de Coquelicot organizers announced that the event’s ninth edition will take place July 2, 2026 – July 4, 2026 at Saguenay, QC’s La Pulperie. This year’s edition will take on a Woodstock vibe, as Chicotimi celebrates its 350th anniversary this summer.
Fittingly, the event’s ninth edition will have a summery theme of poppies. Poppies are celebratory symbols of eight years of marital union. And much like previous editions, more than 15,000 people will gather in Saguenay for the festival — and for $10 weddings.
The festival’s first wave lineup of daytime programming featured an eclectic array of Québec scene titans, including: Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Les Louanges, Klô Pelgag and Ariane Roy, rising local acts Angine de Poitrine and Éléonore Dessureault and Canadian stalwarts Death from Above 1979.
Today, La Noce de Coquelicot organizers announce the event’s late night programming. All of three-day passes and single day tickets have been sold-out. A din order to attend the after-parties, you have to purchase separate tickets, which have just gone on sale here: https://my.weezevent.com/la-noce-de-coquelicot.
All the after-parties will take place on the Pulperie site:
Thursday, July 2, 2026: The festival’s first night will be closed out by Enfants Sauvages and Groovy Aardvark. Mutek will host a late night party featuring Laced and Jacques Greene.
Friday, July 3, 2026: The festival’s second night will be closed out by Kinj00, a rising Québécois emcee, Frikiton, Fidju Kixtoria and Montréal-based kraturock outfit Patche, who I caught at FME back in 2024.
Saturday, July 3, 2026: The festival will be closed out by Hologramme, Robert Robert, Alix Fernz and PYPY.
It looks to be a fun way to spend a summer weekend in La Belle Province y’all.

The Joy of Violent Movement is a completely independent and completely D.I.Y. media outlet. Over the course of this site’s 15+ year history, I’ve used my fiercely independent stance to cover music with an eclectic and global perspective that a lot of other publications just don’t have — and will likely never have.
