The Canadian production and music duo of Majid Jordan, comprised of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman, met while they were both students at the University of Toronto. They released their debut EP, Afterhours under the name of Good People and it managed to get the attention of fellow Torontonian, Drake; in fact, the duo quickly rose to international attention for collaborating with Drake on his massive hit single, “Hold On, We’re Going Home."

And perhaps because off the attention that "Hold On, We’re Going Home” received, the Toronto-based duo’s latest effort, A Place Like This EP was released through Ovo Sound to much fanfare. “Her,” the EP’s latest single is yet another example of contemporary, electronic-based R&B, and in many ways their sound owes a debt to Beacon’s latest effort LP1 – icy and yet it has a visceral heft to it, as you’ll hear layers of cascading synths, skittering percussion and swirling electronics paired with plaintive vocals that express desperate longing with a vulnerability that’s sensual.

The official video, directed by Common Good is appropriately futuristic and a visual delight, while expressing the same longing at the heart of the song.
