The Olympia, WA-based act Broken Water released their latest effort, Wrought last month to critical praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, KEXP and others for the fuzzy, droning power-chord rock sound that channels the Pacific Northwest/grunge sound of the 90s – in particular, early Nirvana, Mudhoney. as you’ll hear on Wrought’s latest single “Wasted.” And in some way, it shouldn’t be surprising that Steve Fisk, who worked with Nirvana and Soundgarden recorded and mixed the album.

Interestingly, the official video which was directed and shot by Japanther’s Ian Vanek is filled with specifically Pacific Northwest-based images – and reminds me quite a bit of the videos of 120 Minutes-era MTV.
