Today continues a rather auspicious week of music birthdays: First, the legendary John Fogerty celebrates his 78th birthday today. Second, the legendary Gladys Knight, the empress of soul, celebrates her 79th birthday today.

And lastly, Beach House‘s Victoria Legrand celebrates her 42nd birthday. If you’ve followed this site over the course of its 13 year history — or if you follow me through the various social sites, you’d know that I adore Beach House. I was thrilled to finally see them and photograph them last year at King’s Theatre, after several years of missing them.

Happy birthday, Victoria! Thank you for writing music that I’ve loved so very much. And may there be many, many, many more!
