The past couple of days have been really busy — but if you know me, I love it that way. I’d rather be busy than sitting around with nothing to do. The other day, was Tupac Shakur’s birthday. Now, I won’t deny that when he was with us, the man was complicated and contradictory: he wrote “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Dear Mama,” which are deeply moving, thoughtful songs. But he also wrote “I Get Around.”
Because we lost him at such a young age, I wonder what a 50 year old 2Pac would be up to right now. Shame ain’t it? But the bigger point of this post is to celebrate the birth, life and music. Happy birthday, Tupac! Happy birthday, wherever you are!
