Throwback: Happy 53rd Birthday, LL Cool J!

I didn’t initially know this but this past week was a rather auspicious week for music: Raekwon and Rob Zombie celebrated birthdays on January 12. Alicia Keys birthday is January 13. Dave Grohl and LL Cool J celebrated birthdays on January 14. Aaliyah‘s birthday was yesterday. And those were the birthdays that I managed to look up and/or came to my mind.

Although this is belated, I wanted to wish LL Cool J a very happy 53rd birthday. As a child of the 80s, I grew up with LL’s music being a central part of my earliest years: I can still picture myself at my 6th grade prom dancing to “Mama Said Knock You Out,” “Jingling Baby” and “Around the Way Girl.”
