Daniel Ash, best known for his work with Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, celebrates his 68th birthday today. Along with Peter Murphy, Ash is an instrumental figure in pioneering what we now know as goth. He’s also one of the more influential guitarists out there with Jane’s Addiction‘s and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Dave Navarro, Soundgarden‘s Kim Thayil, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante and a list others citing him as an influence.
