We’ve somehow managed to survive through July so far, eh? Well, July is a busy month in music history.
- One of the most important figures of the blues, Chicago blues especially, Willie Dixon was born on this day 110 years ago
- James Cotton was born on this day 90 years ago
- Syl Johnson was born on this day 89 years ago
The B-52s Fred Schneider celebrates his 74th birthday today. I’ve been a huge B52s fan since the 80s and much of their music has been a part of my life’s soundtrack, as well as DJ sets.
Happy birthday, Fred! May there be many, many more!
