Today is the legendary Al Green’s 75th birthday. (Whenever Al Green’s name was mentioned or invoked, a friend of mine used to quip “The Reverend Al Green, blessed be his name . . . ” and I literally heard him say that as I was starting this post!) So I wanted to celebrate both the man and the beloved songs; songs that your folks have slow danced to when they were young — and songs you’ve slow danced to right now.
Happy birthday, Reverend Green! May there be many, many, many more!
