This past week has been rather auspicious for music history: Led Zeppelin‘s John Paul Jones‘ birthday was on the third; R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe’s birthday was the fourth; David Bowie’s birthday and Elvis’ birthday were yesterday. And of course, Jimmy Page‘s 78th birthday is today.
But before I forget, The Doors‘ Robby Krieger turned 76 on the eighth as well. He’s arguably one of the most unique sounding guitarists in rock history — and he’s behind some of the more influential and original sounding music of its day. Happy birthday, Robby! May there be many, many more!
