Yesterday was a rather auspicious day in music history: Soul legend Al Green (correction, the Reverend Al Green) and jazz great Herbie Hancock share a birthday. Green turned 75 and Hancock turned 81. Hancock is one of greatest and most innovative pianist to ever do it — and I wanted to show some love for the legend on his birthday, even if it was a little bit belated.
Happy birthday, Herbie! May there be many, many, many more!
