The legendary Wayne Shorter was born 91 years ago on August 25. Shorter is one of the most beloved composers and musicians of the past 100 years. Throughout his career, Shorter played with the likes of Art Blakey, Miles Davis and more– and he was a co-founder of the acclaimed jazz fusion outfit Weather Report.

Although we lost Shorter last year, his work and his influence has been and will continue to be absolutely towering.
