Yesterday was legendary Sun Ra sideman, disciple and Sun Ra Arkestra leader Marshall Allen‘s 97th — yes, 97! — birthday. As always, I like to celebrate our legends while they’re still here. Happy birthday, Mr. Allen. Hopefully, you’ll take us all into outer space soon.
