December is a rather auspicious month in music history:
- Ozzy Osbourne celebrated his 75th birthday on December 3
- Jay-Z celebrated his 54th birthday on December 4
The Doors‘ John Densmore celebrated his 79th birthday back on December 1. If you know, your rock — and music history — you’d know that The Doors were among the most influential and controversial acts of their day.
The L.A. Woman album may arguably be one of the best rock albums ever recorded — and his role on that album, in my book, holds it all together. Happy birthday, sir! May there be many, many more!
