I was saddened to hear that Burt Bacharach died. Yeah, I know he was 94. But Bacharach was behind some of the most gorgeous pop songs ever written and recorded. Bacharach’s work with Hal David and the equally elegant and legendary Dionne Warwick is pop music at its most sublime.
I’d argue that Warwick’s renditions of “I Say a Little Prayer” and “Walk On By” are two of the most gorgeous songs ever written or recorded.
Rest in peace, Mr Bacharach.
