Throwback: R.I.P. George “Funky” Bell

I was working on the previous post when I learned that Kool and the Gang co-founder George Bell died at 74 after a battle with lung cancer. If you’ve been conscious since at least the 1970s, you’re intimately familiar with the band and their countless array of funky, family friendly, party jams. Your grandmother loved them, your mom loved them, and you loved them, too.

Rest in peace, brother. Thank you for so many joyous songs. The world needs much more of that.
