Throwback: R.I.P. Mimi Parker

I was running an errand when I learned that Low‘s Mimi Parker died after a two year battle with ovarian cancer. I was heartbroken. Low’s last two albums are frankly some of the most earnest, beautiful, abrasive and challenging works in recent memory.

I will forever cherish the three times I’ve caught them, especially the most recent, earlier this year at Webster Hall.

Long live Mimi Parker! Long live Low!
