A dear friend of mine had posted something about Motorhead‘s Lemmy Kilmister and at the time, it was so funny that I had to tell my mother about it because like me, she’s a big Motorhead fan — and has been since the 70s. And we laughed about it. I then told my dear friend C. about it, and she laughed about the post and then said “didn’t he die?” So of course, I ran to my Macbook Pro, went to Safari and typed in “Lemmy Kilmister” and saw the sad news that one of metal’s greatest and baddest frontmen died of a very aggressive cancer.
Sometimes before I was about to head out I’d spend my subway ride or bus ride listening to Motorhead’s Ace of Spades and AC/DC‘s Highway to Hell and it would set the mood for a night of shenanigans and fucking shit up. So in honor of Lemmy Kilmister’s life and music, check out a few of my favorite Motorhead songs “Ace of Spades,” a fantastic instrumental version of “We Are the Road Crew” and a live version of “Love Me Like A Reptile.” Play all of these and every Motorhead and Hawkwind album as loud as humanly possible. Motorhead forever! Lemmy forever!
