Up-and-coming, young vocalist, Quebec-born vocalist Charlotte Cardin first received attention as a model – she’s worked for the renowned Elite Model Management before deciding to commit to music full-time when she signed with Montreal indie label Cult Nation. “Big Boy,” the debut single off Cardin’s forthcoming EP meshes electronic production with jazz and pop standard vocal styling reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and Melanie De BIasio. And in fact, much like those two great vocalists, Cardin’s voice is effortlessly soulful and possesses a deep, profound ache – although sonically, the song manages to make the connection between old school jazz and contemporary electronic pop.
