Victoria Hesketh, a.k.a Little Boots, made quite a name for herself when she released her Gold-selling album Hands in 2009. Nocturnes is Hesketh’s much anticipated and long-awaited sophomore effort, and it’ll see a May 6th release through Hesketh’s own label, On Repeat Records. The album was produced by DFA Records co-founder Tim Goldsworthy, and has contributions from Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Hercules and Love Affair’s Andy Butler, and it reportedly pays homage to 90s house music, 70s disco and futuristic electronica.
“Motorway” is the first single from Little Boots’ sophomore effort, and the track is a slickly produced tune that manages to tell a lengthy noir-ish tale to chilly, minimalist beats.
