Formed in 2004, the members of the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based Shout Out Out Out had been in a number of that area’s punk and rock bands – but it was shared interest in synthesizers and electronic music that brought all of them together. The band’s first album, Not Saying/Just Saying released in 2006 was nominated for a Juno Award and the attention from it allowed them to tour across North America. The band’s sophomore effort, Reintegration Time was also well received.
“I Hope i Don’t Find Out,” is the first single from the band’s third and forthcoming album, Spanish Moss and Total Loss. The slickly produced track reminds me a little bit of In Ghost Colours era Cut Copy and old school-inspired techno along the lines of Kraftwerk, Boys Noize, and All Good Funk Alliance.
The band will be embarking on a lengthy North American tour which will have them make a New York stop at Cameo Gallery on March 20th, as well as stops in Vancouver, BC; Seattle, WA; SXSW; Philadelphia, PA; Montreal, QC; Toronto, ON; Hamilton, ON; and several others places.
