Earlier this month, I was at DROM to catch Latin American Music Conference (LAMC) and Chilemusica‘s LAMC showcase From Chile to Canada, which featured a collection of Latin American artists from Chile and Canada that included:
- Toronto-based, multi-Juno Award-nominated, Afro-Cuban post-rock outfit Battle of Santiago.
- Chiapas, Mexico-born, Toronto-based, Juno Award-winning Mexican Mayan-mestizo singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Quique Escamilla.
- Medellin, Colombia-born, Montreal-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ramon Chicharron.
- Rising Chilean trap rapper, graphic designer, and visual artist Ceaese.
- Santiago-born producer, sound engineer, composer, singer/songwriter and electro pop artist Entrópica.
- Rubio, the avant electro pop recording project of Chilean producer, drummer and singer/songwriter Francisca Straube, who initially made a name for herself with stints in pop bands like Miss Garrison and Fármacos.
As always photos from an incredible showcase of diverse artists across the Latin music spectrum are below.
