New Audio: George Aletras Returns with Breakneck and Confrontational “ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙΣ ΠΙΑ ΑΞΙΑ (You Have No Value Anymore)”

George Aletras is a Greek singer/songwriter and musician, whose work sees him moving between indie rock, post rock and cinematic soundscapes, frequently blurring the boundaries between them. At times, his work leans into experimental territories, not as a statement of style, but a a natural consequence of exploration, where form isn’t followed but discovered. 

Over the past year, Aletras has released a handful of singles that have caught my attention, including “Τώρα,” “Όπως Παλιά” (“Like the Old Times”),  “Γιορτή”(“Celebration”) and “Υπνοβάτες (Sleepwalkers).”

The Greek artist’s latest single “ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙΣ ΠΙΑ ΑΞΙΑ” (You Have No Value Anymore)” is a breakneck and urgent bit of post punk that channels Japanese Whispers-era The Cure and Heaven Up Here-era Echo and the Bunnymen that further cements his unerring knack for pairing razor sharp, catchy hooks with seemingly lived-in lyricism that tackles both the personal and the sociopolitical. But it may arguably be one of the more direct and confrontational songs of his growing catalog.

Aletras explains that “ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙΣ ΠΙΑ ΑΞΙΑ” (You Have No Value Anymore)” “speaks about the moment you walk away from manipulation, lies and relationship built on what others can take from you. But freedom comes with a cost: loneliness, rejection, indifference, and the painful realization that, once you stop being useful to someone, you may become invisible to them. Everything you lose when you choose to be free becomes the price you pay for no longer belonging to someone else. Musically, the track turns that idea into urgency — a relentless bassline, sharp guitars, punchy drums, atmospheric synths and an intense vocal delivery create a cold, hypnotic and confrontational atmosphere. The repetitive lyric becomes almost mantra-like, giving the song the raw immediacy of classic post-punk while maintaining a modern underground edge. “ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙΣ ΠΙΑ ΑΞΙΑ” continues that direction darker, sharper and more direct.”
