EDM, house music, industrial electronica, New Audio, New Single, Single Review, techno by William Ruben HelmsJuly 27, 201816:30July 27, 2018 New Audio: Up-and-Coming London-based Electro Pop Duo Kalli Ma Releases a Swaggering Industrial Techno Inspired Single With the release of their debut single “Promises,” the London-based electro pop production and artist duo, Kalli Ma, featuring Danny Sanchez and Jeremy Sliwerski quickly received national and international attention for a sound that draws from techno, acid house, minimal wave and post punk — with the duo citing the work of Not Waving, Factory Floor and Gesaffelstein as influeneces. “High Shot” the duo’s follow up single was a propulsive and kaleidoscopic, club banger that recalled Soft Metals‘ Lenses and Giorgio Moroder. The British duo’s latest single, the urgent, club-rocking “Offence-Defence” features Angela Won-Yin Mak’s in-your face vocals over a gritty, industrial house techno-like production featuring layers of swirling and arpeggiated synths and thumping beats — and sonically, the song recalls early Chemical Brothers and Crystal Method, complete with a swaggering, early hip-hop vibe.
