New Video: The Post-Apocalyptic Visuals for Up-and-Coming Pop Star Ryder’s New Single “Ruins”

Ryder is an up-and-coming, Los Angeles, CA-based indie pop artist, who has started to receive attention with the release of “Ruins,”a slow-burning and atmospheric pop song that pairs a soaring and anthemic hook with swirling and undulating electronics, skittering drum programming and Ryder’s expressive and sultry alto. Sonically speaking, “Ruins” compares favorably with the likes of Phoebe Ryan, CAPPA, Chelsea Lankes and others.

The recently released music video follows what appears to be a couple of Wiccan-appearing ceremonies in the woods that sees the women bonding with each other and with nature — and at one point, this tribe of women actually do observe a ceremony at some ruins. It’s a gorgeously, cinematically shot video that feels and looks as though it could have been part of a post-apocalyptic thriller.
