News: Robert Glasper Announces 8th Annual ROBTOBER Residency at The Blue Note NYC

Robert Glasper is a celebrated, genre-defying and boundary-pushing composer, pianist and producer, known for blending jazz, R&B and hip-hop in groundbreaking ways. With a deep and rich catalog that includes Black Radio and its subsequent sequels, Glasper has been instrumental in redefining contemporary jazz while earning 15 Grammy Award notations and five Grammy Award wins throughout his career.

Across 2024 and 2025, Glasper released four albums Let Go, Code Derivation, Keys to the City: Volume 1 and a holiday album, In December. which continued his streak of innovative music.

Along with that Glasper is a mainstay at Blue Note Jazz Club New York, where his acclaimed ROBTOBER residency showcases the spontaneous alchemy of his collaborators in an intimate and legendary space. Fittingly, his partnership with Blue Note has a deep cultural impact, highlighted by the success of his Black Radio Experience in Napa Valley and his partnering on the opening of Blue Note’s Los Angeles location.

Additionally, the acclaimed composer, pianist and producer has written and recorded scores for both film and TV including for The Photograph, Luther: Never Too Much and Miles Ahead, as well as the Emmy Award-nominated series Winning Time.

Founded back in 1981, The Blue Note Jazz Club is one of the premier venues in the world. While jazz is at its core, The Blue Note continues to broaden its offerings with mission to spotlight contemporary artists across all musical styles, backgrounds and cultures. The New York-based club and its sister locations globally draw massive household names with frequent surprise appearances from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, and more.

Yesterday Robert Glasper and The Blue Note Jazz Club announced that eighth edition of the acclaimed artist’s ROBTOBER residency will take place between October 1, 2026 and November 1, 2026. The eighth edition of the residency returns with an eclectic lineup of special guests joining Glasper on stage, including Wyclef, Lalah Hathaway, Questlove, Kem, Terrace Martin, Bilal, Derrick Hodge, Chris Dave and Phoelix. And on October 14, 2026, the acclaimed composer, producer and pianist will celebrate the club’s 45th anniversary — in the wake of Blue Note Los Angeles’ one-year anniversary and the recent opening of The Blue Note London — with special one-set only performance.

When talking about the residency, Glasper exclaims, “Can’t wait to return to NYC and the Blue Note for the Eighth Season of Robtober! The vibe never fails and is not to be missed. We never know who’s popping up or what’s gonna happen next!”
