The legendary bluesman Muddy Waters was born on this date 112 years ago today. Largely considered the father of modern Chicago blues, Waters’ work has had a towering influence on rock — and that shouldn’t be surprising at all: Rolling Stone and The Rolling Stones both derive their names from a line in one of his songs.
So, today let’s celebrate the man and his legendary work.
Happy birthday, sir! Happy birthday, wherever you are!
