February is a very busy month. It’s Black History Month, which I’ll continue to celebrate throughout the month. And there are of course, several important birthdays that coincide and will be celebrating, as well.
In terms of birthdays:
- Big Boi celebrated his 50th — yes, 50th y’all! — birthday on February 1
- Rick James was born 77 years ago on February 1
- Stan Getz was born on this day 98 years ago
- Graham Nash celebrates his 83rd birthday today
Stone Temple Pilots‘ Robert DeLeo celebrates his 59th birthday today.
If you came off age in the 90s as I did, you’d remember that DeLeo was behind some of the biggest alt rock hits of the decade. As a Stone Temple Pilots fan, I’d say that Purple and Core were two of their best albums — with Purple just seeing them find their own sound.
