Lastly, the legendary and pioneering Chuck D. celebrates his 64th birthday today. His role in popularizing hip-hop across the world is towering — and as an avid music listener, Public Enemy‘s work has played a major part of my life: The first cassette tape that I bought with my own money was Public Enemy’s The Apocalypse 91 . . . The Enemy Strikes Black.
