As I’ve mentioned a number of times on this site: I’ve been a Rush fan for a bit. An ex-girlfriend of mine was a huge Rush fan, and while we were together, she gave me the obsessive fan’s deep dive into the band. We wound up seeing them four times. She loved them immensely. It turned out that ex was a terrible human being. But I kept the band and claimed them for myself.

Neal Peart, one the greatest rock drummers ever was born on this day 72 years ago. We lost him nine years ago, after a battle with cancer; but to his legions of fans, including yours truly, he’s missed.
