Most of my earliest and most profound memories are tied into music. As a small boy, I can remember being obsessed with three of what may arguably be the best live concert movies of the ’80s, Talking Heads‘ Stop Making Sense, The Police’s Synchronicity and David Bowie‘s Serious Moonlight. Personally, I’ve long considered those films as the spark of a lifelong obsession with music.
David Bowie’s music has played a major role in my life. And like countless Bowie fans across the globe, I was shocked and heartbroken to hear of the news of his death after an 18 month struggle with liver cancer. Over the past couple of years, it’s been an annual tradition to pay tribute to Bowie and his work on his birthday. So let’s celebrate his life and his work. I know I will.
