As I mentioned in a previous post, this week is a rather auspicious week in music: Yesterday Sun Ra Arkestra bandleader Marshall Allen celebrated his 97th birthday. Today, Stevie Nicks turned 73 — and it would have been Miles Davis‘ 95th birthday. Now, as I’ve publicly mentioned to people in my home John Coltrane was God and Miles Davis was Jesus. Seriously.
