Today is my 47th birthday. Day 17, 155, which is a lot of days, as a friend joked.
I’ll be out in the streets with the folks as a proud, card carrying member of the press. But understandably, on or around my birthday, I get a bit reflective, meditating on my life and where I am at that point.
These four songs — The Parson Red Heads‘ “Please Come Save Me” and “Another Year,” Cracker‘s “Happy Birthday To Me” and The Beatles “Birthday” — express different things I’ve felt and thought either over the past year or throughout certain points of my life.
Happy birthday — to me. Even in the years it doesn’t feel all that great.
