Throwback: R.I.P. Andy “Fletch” Fletcher

As a child of the ’80s, I grew up obsessively watching MTV. I loved Duran Duran, Run DMC, LL Cool J, and so many others. I was dimly familiar with some of Depeche Mode‘s songs — in particular “People Are People” and “Just Can’t Get Enough,” which were smash hits, but I personally fell in love with 1990’s Violator.

This week has been profoundly difficult: Our political system seems hopelessly broken and no one knows what to do to get the things we need and want. In the past two weeks there have been mass shootings at a Buffalo supermarket and a Southern Texas school. Today was also marked by the death of Depeche Mode co-founder Andy “Fletch” Fletcher.

So let’s celebrate the man’s life and his role in work many of us love immensely, huh?
