Legendary composer and multi-instrumentalist Jack DeJohnette left us today. He was 83. DeJohnette played an instrumental role in the jazz fusion movement, playing on some of the most important and influential albums ever written or recorded — cough, cough Bitches Brew. DeJohnette also worked with some of the genre’s beloved legends, including Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Roy Haynes, Stan Getz, Keith Jarrett, Pat Methany, Michael Brecker, John McLaughlin and an incredibly lengthy list of others.
Long live Jack DeJohnette! Your legacy and influence will remain towering!
