2014 was a big year for Future Classic, the Sydney, Australia-based electro pop and electronic dance music label, management firm, booking agent and music publisher as a number of the label’s artists including Chet Faker, Jagwar Ma, Panama, Flight Facilities and others have received international attention as some of the year’s hottest indie acts. And to celebrate such a big year, Future Classics recently released a compilation of singles from their artists titled Teen Idols: A Future Classic Compilation.
The compilation includes Chet Faker’s highly praised single “Gold,” and this single by the mysterious electronic production duo, K.O.A., “All Of My Love.” The single is comprised of hot and explosive blasts of cymbals, layers of undulating and sinuous synths, propulsive percussion paired with a soulful vocal sample. And the addition of a twinkling and cascading layer of keyboards reveal that this production duo has a glossy and slick production style that’s reminiscent of Octo Octa’s Between Two Selves – in other words, house music that possess a craft and thoughtfulness that most house music doesn’t always have.
