Mariah Carey celebrates her 55th birthday today. Carey is one of the best-selling artists ever, selling over 220 million records across the globe. She also holds the record for most Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles by a solo artist (19), a female songwriter (18) and a female producer (15). Perhaps unsurprisingly. she is the highest-certified female artist in the States and 10th overall with 74 million units sold. Oh and she’s won 5 Grammys, 19 World Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 15 Billboard Music Awards and eight Guinness World Records.
