We tragically lost Joe Strummer 20 years ago, and throughout the years, I’ve often wondered what Joe would have said to us about our very strange sociopolitical moment.
Today, Joe would have turned 70 — 70! — y’all. Strummer’s work with The Clash manages to loom large over punk rock and rock, and probably will forever. And none of that should be surprising. So today, let’s celebrate Joe’s life and music.
Happy birthday, Joe. Happy birthday wherever you are!
