Punk icon and frontman of The Clash, Joe Strummer was born 73 years ago on August 21. 

We tragically lost Strummer at the all too young age of 50, 21 years ago, but his work with The Clash remains massively influential and important. Literally every single punk band since 1977 can trace their sound back to both Ramones and The Clash. But more important, he has been missed.
