Throwback: Happy 73rd Birthday, Michael McDonald!

February is a very busy month. It’s Black History Month, which I’ll continue to celebrate throughout the month. And there are of course, several important birthdays that coincide and will be celebrating, as well.

Michael McDonald, one of the kings of blue-eyed soul and yacht rock celebrates his 73rd birthday today. He was a backing vocalist and keyboardist in Steely Dan between 1975-1980 and may be best known for his stints as the frontman of The Doobie Brothers and as a solo artist. If you’re a hip-hop head, you’re intimately familiar with his 1982 smash hit “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near).”

So let’s celebrate the multiple Grammy Award winner and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer today, huh?
